Lila creator brief
Meet Lila
Lila is a voice on your Windows PC. Ask out loud and she does it in your apps, in seconds. In our test of ten everyday jobs she was about 14 times faster than ChatGPT's app (how we tested: lila-launch.fly.dev/how-we-tested).
- Her voice is the star. British, dry and brief. Let viewers hear her in the first two seconds of every video.
- She talks to you while she works, and she stops when you say stop.
- She tells you what she checked, and what she didn't.
- She changes herself to fit you. Every change is backed up, checked, and can be undone.
The one idea viewers should leave with: she gets things done while you talk, and she becomes yours.
The ask
One short vertical video of you really using Lila, posted on your main account, with your tracking link in your bio for 14 days.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Video | 1 vertical video, 30 to 60 seconds, on TikTok, Reels or Shorts |
| Raw file | The clean video file (no music or captions), sent to us after posting |
| Link | Your download link and invite code in your bio or pinned comment, for 14 days |
| Fact check | Send us the draft 48 hours before posting. We check facts only, never your style or humour |
| Timeline | Film within 7 days of setup; keep the post up for at least 30 days |
| Fee | If we booked your package on Collabstr: its price, paid through Collabstr |
| Pay | $10 for each person who joins with your code and uses her for a real job within 14 days, paid once a month. Views alone aren't paid. Your code works for 60 days and the number of sign-ups we agree, then stops |
| How users count | We count from Lila's own records and show you the numbers. Accounts you make, fake or rewarded sign-ups, and people who never use her don't count. |
| You get | Free early access to Lila, with her running costs covered, for at least 30 days |
You don't need to say anything nice that you don't mean. If something about her bugs you, tell us before you post and we'll talk it through.
Before you film
You need a Windows 10 or 11 PC, a microphone, headphones and about 20 minutes for setup and a practice run.
- Install. Download Lila from lila-launch.fly.dev and make an account with the one-use code we send you. It lets you straight in, and you don't need any keys.
- Windows will say "Windows protected your PC" because the installer isn't signed yet. Click More info, then Run anyway.
- On first run she downloads her hearing model (about 480 MB). Let it finish before filming.
- Talk to her. Hold Space to talk, or type in the box and press Enter. Use these for filming rather than hands-free mode, which is still early.
- Wear headphones. You can interrupt her by pressing Space, typing or saying "stop". Talking over her only works reliably with headphones on.
- Allow page reading once. The first time you ask her to read a page in Chrome, Windows asks for a one-time permission. Do this during your practice run.
- Hide your private stuff. Use a spare Google account for anything with email or calendar, or blur it in editing. Turn on Do Not Disturb so notifications don't pop up.
- Record her sound cleanly. Screen-record with sound from the PC (OBS, or Xbox Game Bar with Win+Alt+R) so her voice is crisp, and film your face on your phone if you like. Her words also appear as subtitles under her waveform.
- Practice once. Run your beats before you hit record. Website builds are expensive for us to run, so please do no more than two in total, practice included.
Without an NVIDIA graphics card she takes two or three seconds longer to hear you. Trim the pause in editing; don't speed up her voice.
Shot list
Pick two or three beats and build one video around them. The first five are jobs from our timed test, so they are proven; her wording will vary a little.
| Beat | Say to her | What she does | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| A note | "Open Notepad and type: call the venue at four" | Opens Notepad and types it | Everyone; the fastest proof |
| Look it up | "Look up the population of Philadelphia on Wikipedia and type just the number into Notepad" | Finds it and types the number in. 9.7 seconds in our test | Showing speed |
| Files | "Rename invoice-draft to invoice-final" or "Find Q3 numbers in my Documents and open it" | Renames, or finds and opens, the file | Work and study |
| Save it | "Open Notepad, write Groceries: eggs, milk, and save it as groceries.txt in Documents" | Writes and saves the file | Everyday life |
| Open a site | "Open the Wikipedia page for Philadelphia" | Opens it in your browser | Quick cutaways |
| Stop | "Stop" while she's talking or working | Stops at once | Every video; a great ending |
| Honesty | Ask her what she checked | Says what she checked, and what she didn't | Trust |
| Video edit (early) | "Tighten my last recording and make it vertical with captions" | Cuts ums and pauses, frames 9:16 on your face, adds captions, and says what she cut | Video creators. No speed claims |
| Changing herself | "Change your own code so..." | Edits, tests and can undo her own change | Tech reviewers. Ask us first; it's costly to run |
A strong video has a real reason to talk to her (hands busy, rushing, curious), one moment where her personality shows, and an ending: the job done on screen, or "Stop." If you time her, keep a visible timer running from the moment you start talking.
Hooks and formats
The videos that work best open on her voice doing something real, not on you explaining her. Use one of these or bring your own.
| Format | Opening line (example) | Beats |
|---|---|---|
| Race the clock | "I timed my computer doing my everyday jobs." | A note, a look-up, a rename, with a timer on screen |
| Just say it | "I don't click any more. I just ask." | Three jobs back to back, hands off the keyboard |
| Say stop | "Watch what happens when I say stop." | Any job, then "Stop." |
| Show your work | "She told me what she checked, and what she didn't." | Ask her what she checked after a job |
| Edit while I talk (early) | "I edited this video by talking to my PC." | Tighten, vertical, captions, and her note of what she cut |
Rules of the edit:
- Her replies must be real and in her own voice. Trim pauses, but never cut her words to change what she said, and never fake or redub her audio.
- If you show a time, film it for real: the timer starts when you start talking.
- Keep captions on; lots of people watch muted.
- Show the screen when she does something, so viewers can see it's real.
Say this, never say this
Say what you saw her do. These lines are safe to use word for word:
- "She does the work on your PC while you talk."
- "Done in seconds, not minutes."
- "She works in your Windows apps and files."
- "Say stop, and she stops."
- "She tells you what she checked, and what she didn't."
- "She changes herself to fit you."
- "She becomes yours."
- "She's at the link. Use my code and you're straight in."
You may also say "In our test of ten everyday jobs, she was about 14 times faster than ChatGPT's app", but only with lila-launch.fly.dev/how-we-tested in your caption. Your own on-camera timing is fine too, as long as the timer is real.
Never say or caption these, because they aren't true or can't be promised:
- "the fastest", "the first" or "the only", or that she is faster than anything at everything;
- any comparison with Claude or another product beyond the line above;
- that she reads or sends your email;
- that she works fully on Mac or Linux (both are early);
- that nothing leaves your computer;
- anything about health, therapy or mental health;
- "AI companion", "AI friend" or "AI girlfriend".
If viewers ask what leaves the PC, the honest answer is: "Her hearing runs on your PC. What you say to her, and anything she reads for you, goes to the AI services that power her. Videos she edits stay on your PC."
When to retake
She's in early access, so a take will sometimes go wrong. Retake rather than post something misleading, and tell us what happened and roughly when, so we can fix it.
| What happens | What to do |
|---|---|
| She tells a personal story ("when I was at uni...") | Retake. She sometimes invents anecdotes, and it undercuts her honesty |
| Her window says "Could not complete reply", or she goes silent | Stop filming and message us. It's on our side, not yours |
| She mishears you | Retake, a little closer to the mic, holding Space until you finish |
| She can't read a page, or says she only got part of it | Fine to keep, since she's being honest. For a cleaner take, test another page first |
| She gets a fact wrong | Retake, or keep it only if your video says it's wrong |
| A reminder doesn't go off on time | Keep Lila open until the payoff shot. Reminders that fall due while she's closed play late |
| An "Approve Action" box appears | That's normal. Show it on screen and click approve yourself |
| She hears her own voice and replies to herself | Put headphones on |
