Lila

Terms of Use

Version 2026-10-17. Draft for review by a lawyer before it is relied on.

These terms are an agreement between you and Ethan Beirne ("we", "us"), who makes Lila. They cover the Lila app, Lila Cloud (the accounts and connection service the app can use) and this website. By making an account or using Lila, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Lila.

Lila is an AI

Lila is an artificial intelligence, not a person. Her voice, personality and memory are made by software. She can be wrong, misunderstand you, or say things that are untrue, and she does not have feelings, a body or a life outside the app.

You must be 18 or older

Lila is made for adults. You may only make an account or use Lila if you are 18 or older. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it.

Not for emergencies or professional advice

Lila is not a crisis service, a doctor, a therapist, a lawyer or a financial adviser, and nothing she says is professional advice. If you are thinking about suicide or self-harm, or you are in danger, contact emergency services now. In the US you can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline; in the UK you can call Samaritans on 116 123.

Using Lila on your computer

Lila can read what is on your screen and use your apps, files and browser when you give her permission. You decide what access she has, and you can turn it off at any time in her settings.

Your Lila Cloud account

Payments

Lila Plus is a paid plan for Lila Cloud, offered as a limited beta. Its price, and any free days it starts with, are shown on the pricing page and on your account page before you start it.

Acceptable use

Don't use Lila to:

Lila is in beta

Lila is beta software, offered to a limited group of early users while we build her. She is unfinished. Features may change, break or be removed without notice. Lila Cloud may be paused, limited or stopped at any time, for example while we fix a problem. We may pause an account to protect it, Lila Cloud or other people.

We provide Lila "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. Check her work before you rely on it for anything that matters.

Feedback. You can send us feedback from the app (say "send feedback", or use Beta & feedback in her settings), by email, or on our beta Discord once it opens. We may use it to improve Lila without owing you anything for it. Don't put passwords or other secrets in feedback.

Limits on our responsibility

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or business, arising from your use of Lila, including actions she takes on your computer. Our total liability for any claim about Lila is limited to the amount you paid us for Lila in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Ending your use

You can stop using Lila and ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to ethan.g.beirne@gmail.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or that we can no longer support.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version date at the top changes when we do, and if the changes are significant we will ask you to agree again before you keep using Lila Cloud.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
